The Chevron — End-Grain Cutting Board
The Chevron — End-Grain Cutting Board This one definitely doesn’t blend into the countertop. Handcrafted from black walnut, maple, and cherry, this end-grain cutting board features a bold repeating chevron pattern that runs across the entire board. The dark walnut, light maple, and warm cherry create a ton of contrast while letting the natural grain of each species become part of the design. A routed juice groove follows the perimeter, with the contrasting pattern continuing all the way through the border instead of stopping at the edge. Built using end-grain construction, the wood fibers face upward, allowing your knife to pass between the fibers rather than constantly cutting across them. It’s easier on your knives and designed to handle actual kitchen use, even if it looks almost too good to cut on. Handmade one at a time by Splintered Board. Grain, color, and character will always vary, making each board truly one of a kind.
