Behind the Brand: The Story of Splintered Board

Some businesses start with a plan. Others start with a passion that refuses to stay a hobby. Splintered Board is one of those stories.

It all began with the smell of sawdust and the sound of wood being worked by hand—a familiar soundtrack growing up. My dad was a carpenter, and I spent countless hours watching him turn rough lumber into something useful, something beautiful. I never planned to follow in his footsteps, but here I am, shaping wood into something meaningful, one project at a time.

At first, it was just a way to unwind. Working in IT, my days were filled with servers, cybersecurity, and the constant hum of technology. Woodworking became my escape—a way to create something real with my hands instead of just solving problems on a screen. I started with simple projects, learning as I went, and before I knew it, I was hooked.

Then people started noticing. Friends, family, and even strangers began asking if they could buy what I made. Cutting boards, cigar ashtrays, engraved coasters—each piece was crafted with care, and that made them stand out. That's when I realized this was more than a hobby. Splintered Board was born.

More Than Just Woodworking

For me, this isn’t just about making wooden products. It’s about bringing personality into craftsmanship. Every item that leaves my shop is meant to be used, gifted, or displayed with pride. Whether it’s a custom-engraved piece, a rustic home décor item, or something completely unique, I put the same care and attention into every project.

And the best part? I’m always learning, always experimenting. Whether it’s laser engraving, custom designs, or testing out new wood finishes, I love the challenge of trying something different. That’s what keeps this exciting.
