Rockler’s new product, the Bench Cookie, is supposed to keep your workpiece from sliding all over your bench while using a belt sander or router on it – with no clamps or hold fasts.
I test them out after ’soaking’ one in fine sawdust for 6 days.

Rick, I’m going back and checking out some of your older podcasts and stumbled on this one. I’m glad I did – I had heard of Rockler’s Bench Cookies, but had no idea what they actually were. One question I have is whether or not they held for use on a router. It strikes me that the twisting movement of a router shaft would exhibit a totally different type of force on the cookies than the sander. Either way, I’m surprised that these seem to work as well as they do, but I’d probably just stick to my clamping method. Cool show.

I haven’t used them with a router, yet. But, I’ve seen a few independant videos of people trying them with routers. They seemed to work just fine.
